And these twelve ministers whom thou beholdest shall judge thy seed. And, behold, they arerighteous forever; for because of their faith in theLamb of Godtheir garments are made white in his blood.
I keep reading this scripture over and over, I am going to have to go back and read the whole chapter to figure out what the context is. Enlighten me- give me the deaper meaning...I ams ure there is more to it then I am getting from my sleep deprived brain.
I had an interesting talk with Dad on the way home from Montana about the Atonement. Your scripture brings to mind something that Dad and I talked about in 2 Nephi 2:3. Lehi is speaking to Jacob and says, "Wherefore, I know that thou art redeemed, because of the righteousness of thy Redeemer; for thou hast beheld that in the fulness of time he cometh to bring salvation unto men." In both scriptures, somebody is declaired to have acquired some status before they actually recieve it; The twelve being righteiouse "forever" and Jacob being "redeemed". What I find interesting is that Lehi didn't say Jacob was redeemed because of his faith, or his works, or his righteousness or anything else. It had nothing to do with anything Jacob did, and everything to do with Christ.
